December Recap
Howdy friends and Happy Monday! As we get ready for New Year celebrations and the entire 2020 year, we decided to take a look back at our last month in 2019 and see what all we got into.
At the beginning of December, we saw that it was National Mutt Day and knew we wanted to do something to show our support like the puppy lovers we are. We drove ourselves right over to Petco and picked up a multitude of items on the SPCA’s Wish List (you can find this list at https://winchesterspca.org/volunteer/wish-list/). After spending an undisclosed amount of money, we took the items to the SPCA of Winchester, Frederick, & Clarke Counties and were able to spend part of our day playing with the dogs that were there for temporary housing at the time!
We visited the Handley Library for National Dewey Decimal System Day where we tried to utilize our knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System to locate books in different categories. (If you’re in the market for not only a home but a good laugh, check out that video)
Nate went Driving Miss Kaylie around Walmart (yes, in a cart) on the search for different toys to put in the Toys for Tots box at Orangetheory Fitness Winchester and we even had a surprise guest appearance from Orangetheory Studio Manager, Olivia.
We also journeyed to Town of Front Royal, Virginia on a chilly, rainy day with a mission to check out a home for a client and made a pit stop at Happy Creek Coffee & Tea for National Pastry Day – the Orange Cranberry and Blueberry Crumble muffins are absolutely a go-to now.
The food fun didn’t stop there… We tested out the 4 third-party delivery services in Winchester now (Door Dash, Grubhub, Postmates, and Uber Eats) to see what they’re pricing, time, and service was like. Take a look at our “Kaylie and Nate Order In” video to see the outcome and better prepare yourself.
As some of you may have seen, we decided to celebrate National Gingerbread House Day by decorating our own gingerbread houses and having fun with different home buying/selling scenarios.
Oh, and one last little fun adventure for this month – Nate made his way into an attic to check on something for some awesome clients before they moved into their new home! (Can we say commitment?)
While we had so much fun with different National Days in December, we also took the time to meet with several of the service providers that we enjoy working with to start building the foundation for what is to come for all of us in 2020. We have several exciting things planned with several wonderful people who are also making it their profession to serve the community and their clients in the best way possible!
